Blog #3

Charles woke up to the sounds of the tornado sirens going off, they annoyed the hell out of him. They sounded like bad singers when they try to hit a high note. And with those sirens ended his one good sleep he had in awhile. He was still partially happy, he finally got a job at the hospital so he wont have to go the medical clinic as much. The only problems now were his car was still out of commission and he had to walk to work, and those damn sirens. He looked out the window and saw nothing that looked too bad. He´d never seen a tornado in his life even when the sirens went off so he thought ¨I´ll live¨ and left his apartment to head outside.

Outside the building the streets were empty, the wind had blown trash from all of the city on to the streets, pizza boxes, grandma grits napkins, promotion flyers from the strip club, cigarettes from the gas station, pretty much everything you could imagine in a trash can was now on the streets.
¨These garbage men gonna hate this winter storm more than anyone else after today¨ he said in his head and continued walking.

As he continued his walk he had to admit to himself, this probably wasn't one his best ideas, maybe he should find shelter. Right when he was about to make his decision a little girl and boy walked up to him. Now this always freaked him out, especially when they had the big wide eyed look on their faces. He saw their faces were red and their eyes red and puffy, he came to two conclusions, they had been cold, and crying. The little boy spoke first in the saddest voice imaginable.
¨Mister can you help us¨ I can´t find my dad¨
¨Neither can I kid¨ Charles thought.
Then the little girl spoke. ¨I can´t find my mom¨.
Charles realized now the kids, were white, now not that this is very important but he´s always finding lost white kids anywhere he goes. He he had already decided he was going to help them when he first saw them he just was realizing this was becoming a pattern even when he was 5 he was doing this. He decided to take them to the hospital and they could call their mother. Soon however the wind pick up, violently throwing glass, rock, small trees through the air. Before they could react a trash can was thrown into the window of the little shack they were in. The lights went out, the two kids started to cry, all CJ could think was "damn, this happened again"
